How it works

  1. 1Add the chapter you readName your chapter and page or paragraph range. Paste the complete excerpt, or try an original fiction or nonfiction short chapter.
  2. 2Check questions against evidenceChoose complete source paragraphs. Write a question, answer, and evidence explanation. Keep text facts separate from your own supported interpretations.
  3. 3Recall, then retryConfirm the questions, hide their answers, and recall them. Reveal the evidence to self-rate, continue to the next group, or retry questions that need review.

Read beyond a copied answer

The fiction chapter follows Iona as she repairs an oar and waits for her brother. Its questions separate events from possible motives. The nonfiction chapter weighs two uses for an archive room. Its questions separate a proposal from results the author does not have.

Read each complete chapter in the preview. After recalling an answer, open its source and explain which details support it. A character’s silence does not prove a motive; a proposed measurement plan does not prove an outcome.

For your own book reading quiz, keep the paragraphs around a decision or claim together. Add new questions when you finish a chapter. For course definitions and worked examples, use textbook chapter practice.

Optional: use AI to generate a separate quiz

Questions people ask

Is the book quiz generator free?Local chapter practice is free without an account: add questions, recall answers, read evidence, and retry them. Drafts and progress stay in this tab when session storage works. The separate optional AI generator keeps its existing free-use limits.
Can I turn a book into a quiz from its title?A title does not give QuizGen the book. Paste the complete chapter excerpt and its range for local practice. Check that each answer follows from the selected paragraphs. The tool checks copied text and source locations; you check meaning and context.
Can I use a PDF or photos of book pages? The separate optional AI generator accepts a PDF or clear PNG, JPG, or WebP photos. Local chapter practice uses text you paste and does not read files automatically. EPUB files are not supported. Your local excerpt is not copied into the AI generator.
How are fiction and nonfiction answers checked? For fiction, distinguish stated events from interpretations of character choices. For nonfiction, distinguish an author’s claims from evidence and argument limits. Every question has complete source paragraphs and an evidence explanation. Your recall is self-rated; interpretations are not automatically graded or presented as the only valid reading.
