How it works
- 1Group your lecture notesPaste notes with a # heading for each lecture or topic. Keep complete definitions, process steps and example conditions on separate lines.
- 2Check questions against the sourceChoose a source note, copy its answer phrase, and write a recall question. Check its meaning and conditions before confirming. Or try two original four-lecture examples with 20 points each.
- 3Recall, check, and retryHide the answer, recall it or fill the gap, then reveal the source. Rate your own answer and retry missed points. Later groups review your notes; add material for new topics.
Studying from a lecture deck?
If your notes refer to slides, include the definitions and examples from the deck too. You can turn lecture slides into a quiz by uploading a PDF or screenshots, or pasting the slide text alongside your notes.
Optional: use AI to generate a separate quiz
This separate generator sends the material you enter to QuizGen’s AI service. Its existing free-use limits apply. Your local practice material is not copied into it.

Questions people ask
What is the best way to turn lecture notes into a quiz?Group notes by lecture or topic. Keep the source context, write one question per complete note, and copy its answer phrase. Check every question against the notes before practising. Recall the answer, reveal the source, and retry points you missed.
Is lecture notes practice free without signing in?Local recall and gap practice is free without an account. Notes and progress stay in this browser tab and survive a refresh when session storage works. The optional AI generator is separate and keeps its existing free-use limits, including five questions for an anonymous trial.
Does QuizGen grade my recall or cover my whole course? You rate your answer against the confirmed source; it is not AI grading. Matching a copied phrase does not check the question’s meaning. Practice covers only the notes and points you select. The 40 example learning points have 80 recall/gap variants, not 80 new concepts or a promise of 20 minutes of practice.
Can I edit notes or use paper notes?Editing or replacing notes removes their old questions, answers and practice progress. Confirm new source answers before restarting. Type or transcribe paper notes for local practice. The optional AI generator accepts supported uploads, but local practice does not read files or send your notes to it.
